Hybrid Event: Spin the wheel - Financing the reskilling and upskilling for circular cities

8 June 2023, 10:00-11:30

Developing and investing in circular economy projects and competences has become an imperative to avoid exceeding planetary boundaries. Being on the forefront of action, cities and local governments can steer this change by channeling financial resources in the right direction.

Unlocking investments to finance the circular transition

The transition to a circular economy is critical to achieving sustainability and reducing the strain on natural resources. Cities and regions can play a crucial role in this effort by closing material loops and minimising the use of resources and the generation of waste. Nevertheless, finding adequate funding to implement circular economy projects remains a significant challenge.

Strengthening Cyber Resilience in the Health Sector: The Road Ahead for EU-Wide Interconnected Medical Systems

In the context of the MES-CoBraD project, which I have the privilege of coordinating, our platform facilitates the secure sharing, analysis, and management of anonymized patient data. Although the platform was not directly affected by the recent cyberattack on Sant Pau Hospital in Catalonia, the incident underscores the urgent need for robust cybersecurity measures in the healthcare sector, especially in the interconnected systems such as eHDSI and the proposed European Health Data Space (EHDS).

Leveraging Real-World Data and Artificial Intelligence in Medical Research: The MES-CoBraD Approach

Complex Brain Disorders (CoBraD) encompass a variety of conditions that impact the brain's structure and function, including dementia, epilepsy, and sleep disorders. These disorders significantly affect the quality of life for millions of people globally. Diagnosing and treating CoBraD, however, is challenging due to their heterogeneity, comorbidity, and variability.
